Job Description
Job Summary (List Format):
- Serve as a Business Analyst for the Department of Information Technology (DIT) for the State of North Carolina.
- Support application rationalization initiatives by analyzing, optimizing, and consolidating the state's portfolio of IT systems and applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current application portfolios and identify redundant, obsolete, or underutilized systems.
- Analyze application lifecycle, performance, and value to inform decisions on retirement, consolidation, replacement, or optimization.
- Assist in developing roadmaps and strategies for streamlining applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards.
- Support business architecture efforts by creating and documenting business architecture models.
- Work with stakeholders to gather business requirements, identify system dependencies, and address pain points in workflows.
- Ensure technology solutions and app rationalization align with overall business architecture frameworks.
- Interact with executive-level business users and technical experts across various state departments.
- Deliver support and design for industry-specific applications that require integration with statewide systems.
- Identify and recommend best practices, standards, and improvements for high-quality service and product delivery.
- Convey technical and functional concepts effectively to various stakeholders.
- Position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience as a Business Analyst or similar, with focus on application portfolio management, business architecture, or IT strategy.
- Demonstrated experience in app rationalization or business architecture in large, complex organizations or public sector.
- Strong knowledge of business processes, systems integration, software development lifecycle, and application development.
- Proven ability to support large and complex IT implementations.
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement, best practices identification, and standards development.
